Free Time

Container Free Time

  • Standard: Usually 7 days of free container use at the destination port
  • Extension requests: Possible in special cases, but not guaranteed
  • Overdue charges: Approximately USD 20–80 per day (varies by carrier)

Free Storage

  • Standard: 3–7 days
  • Overdue: Charged at terminal rates, usually accruing daily

Common Additional Charges in Australia

  • AQIS quarantine fee: Approximately AUD 50–200 (depends on cargo type)
  • GST (Goods and Services Tax): 10% of cargo value
  • CFS unpack fee: For LCL cargo
  • Cartage: Terminal → final destination

Notes

  • Destination charges are borne by the consignee (unless otherwise agreed under CIF/DDP terms)
  • Contact the consignee before arrival to arrange pickup and avoid extra storage charges
